VATICAN, La. (KLFY) -- Three people have died in a plane crash in Lafayette Parish, officials have confirmed.

The crash occurred in a field at the corner of Gloria Switch Road and La. 93 near the community of Vatican.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed there are three fatalities.

Officials said the aircraft was a Beechcraft Baron twin-prop plane.

No other information has yet been released.
