CLINTON, NY — AN UPSTATE MAN who was pardoned by President Donald Trump for charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol was arrested on a charge of threatening to kill Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, according to CNBC and other outlets.
Christopher Moynihan, 34, of Clinton, NY, was charged with making a terroristic threat against the Brooklyn representative and Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. Moynihan is being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bail. On his first day in office, Trump pardoned all 1,500 supporters charged with the Jan. 6 attack.
“Since the blanket pardon that occurred earlier this year, many of the criminals released have committed additional crimes throughout the country,” Jeffries noted.
