OGDEN — A new thrift shop run by high school students is almost ready for its grand opening.
Second Flight Thrift Shop will open for the first time on Thursday at Weber Innovation High School. Its co-founders, Hudson McFarland and Conner Newton, said this is a passion project that will hopefully allow them to create a scholarship program or help pay for the business students to go to a national competition.
“It’s been a lot of work. It’s fall break right now. We came in early at, like, 7 a.m. We’ve been setting up all day,” McFarland said.
McFarland and Newton have a higher purpose for Second Flight Thrift. It will give other students access to affordable clothing and promote recycling clothes rather than shopping from fast-fashion companies. They’ll even use the shop’s profits to give
