A Savannah man will spend at least 30 years behind bars for killing his 17-year-old daughter last summer.

What’s Happening: Maurice Pollock pleaded guilty to murdering his daughter Maria in July 2024. A judge sentenced him to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

What’s Important: Pollock cannot ask for parole until he serves 30 years of his sentence. Police found Maria dead at a home on Adel Street in Savannah after responding to a domestic violence call.

Between the Lines: Officers also found Pollock at the scene with a gunshot wound when they arrived. Author Profile
