A modern log house near Northwest Portland’s Forest Park that was modeled after Mount Hood’s Timberline Lodge sold for $1,150,000 after the seller dropped the price $245,000.

The 8.14-acre wooded property on Northwest Cornell Road , listed at $1,395,000 on July 17, was on the market for 52 days. The price was lowered Sept. 2 and the sale closed Oct. 10.

“Shortly after the price adjustment, activity picked up significantly, and we received two full-price offers,” said listing brokers Michelle Koury and Mel George of Windermere Realty Trust.

The buyers — now the new owners — live in the area and were drawn to the property for several reasons, the brokers told The Oregonian/OregonLive. “They fell in love with the location, the log-home architecture and the acreage.”
