The first time Roger Blank ran for City Commission in 2023, he did so because he felt the commissioners were not listening to the public.

In the two years since that unsuccessful run, Blank said the issue has only worsened. So Blank, 63, is running for one of the two four-year seats open in the November election.

“In my campaign and in my personal experience, I feel, and a significant number of the public I've spoken with feel, that those opinions are just disregarded,” he said. “They just do not care to engage with the public if the public holds an opinion that is different than their ideological opinion.”
