Pittsburgh Steelers safety Miles Killebrew will miss the rest of the season after undergoing successful knee surgery, head coach Mike Tomlin said.
Killebrew laid down on the ground for some time before being helped off by trainers and putting little weight on the knee. He was immediately ushered into the blue medical tent where he was then carted off the field into the locker room.
“Miles Killebrew is out for the season. He had successful knee surgery, but his year is over,” Tomlin said. “Our heart aches for Miles. Obviously, he’s a significant component of what we do.”
He has been selected as the team’s special teams captain every season since 2022. Killebrew has been a two-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro with the team since inking a deal with them.
