HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are responding to a barricade situation at Herbert Street and Campbell Avenue, in the Kapahulu area.

Police announced via social media that officers are responding to the incident and that a law enforcement officer has been shot.

Sources told Hawaii News Now that a DLE deputy sheriff was shot in an operation Tuesday morning as part of a task force with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The deputy was treated by EMS and taken to a hospital.

No word on their condition at this time.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area and to keep the roads clear for first responders to work safely and efficiently.
