Peter Sleap has been bowled over by the support from two Newcastle District Cricket Association clubs.
Waratah Mayfield and University of Newcastle will contest the inaugural Sleapy’s Cup at several venues throughout the city next month.
The combatants are set to pad up in four grades on Saturday 8 November, with firsts taking the field at Waratah Oval from 10am; seconds at Bernie Curran Oval from 11am; thirds at Waratah Park 3 and fourths at Ray Watt Oval (both at noon).
Each division vies for points, with the organisation amassing the most also snaring the silverware.
