FRANKFORT, Ky. —
A new contender has entered the race for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District, and he has the support of President Donald Trump.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R) has held the seat for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District since 2012, which covers 21 counties. That includes Carroll, Henry, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties.
Massie will be seeking re-election in 2026, but a new challenger has entered the race.
Republican Ed Gallrein has officially launched his bid to unseat Massie in next year's primary.
"For over 30 years, I served our nation as a Navy SEAL and Senior Military Advisor, leading America’s most elite warriors on missions around the world. When I came home, I returned to Kentucky where my family has farmed for five generations," Gallrein said in
