Navigating a 20-game Big East schedule is a grueling task, and Butler basketball coach Thad Matta knows it will take more than his starting five to lead the Bulldogs back to the NCAA tournament for the first time in eight seasons.

Butler completely remade its roster heading into Year 4 under Matta, bringing in five freshmen, five transfers and international signee center Kevin Ndzie to improve on last season's 15-20 campaign. At Big East media day Tuesday, Matta said this team is the deepest one he's coached at Butler.
