BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WFSB) - Jurors in the federal trial against Kosta Diamantis have not yet reached a verdict after beginning deliberations Tuesday night and resuming Wednesday morning. The jury went home at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Before they left, jurors had a question and wanted further instruction on one of the extortion counts.
Kosta Diamantis, a former state official and lawmaker, is charged with 21 counts of extortion, bribery and making false statements.
“Jurors work hard to get it right, and it’s not surprising to me that we are still at the end of today without a verdict,” said Norm Pattis, Diamantis’ attorney.
