MERIDEN, Conn. (WNTH) — Gov. Ned Lamont stopped in Meriden on Tuesday to get his COVID-19 and flu shots.

Lamont got the vaccines at Community Health Center Inc. He believes getting the shots makes a difference and keeps people safe. He said the number of vaccinations is lagging this year.

"We have about a third as many people vaccinated as we should at this point, so I want more people to step forward. See if we can get to the same number as we got last year," Lamont said.

The vaccines are included in all state-sponsored health insurance programs. Community Health Center Inc. has about 180 locations available for people to get vaccinated.
