Salem police are seeking witnesses and video footage of a Sunday fight at the West Salem Roth’s that ended with a man striking another man with his car.
Police responded to the store at 1130 Wallace Rd. N.W. around 5:30 p.m. on report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian, dispatch records show.
“A verbal altercation escalated when a vehicle struck a man and fled the scene,” police said in a statement Monday.
The driver struck a 42-year-old man, who had significant injuries. Bystanders on scene treated him before patrol officers arrived, Salem police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Hardy said. The man was taken to Salem Hospital.
Police did not release details about the nature of the injuries.
