A young person from Valley East is cooling their heels in jail after allegedly causing a lot of trouble near Espanola.

On Sept. 25, at about 10 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the OPP was called about a dispute at a home in Willisville, where a person had been assaulted.

While police were on their way to Willisille, the suspect stole a vehicle and fled from the residence. A short time later, police located and arrested the individual, the OPP said in a release.

As a result, a 16-year-old from Valley East has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, two counts of mischief under $5,000, the theft of a motor vehicle, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
