Officers said they stopped a motorcyclist who led them on a chase through the streets of Stamford while he recklessly weaved through traffic and "provoked" police.

Harry Vizcarrondo, 22, of Stamford, was first spotted by officers as he blew through a red light at high speeds, authorities said. Police followed him as he cut through traffic, taunting officers by slowing down, revving up, and skidding his motorcycle in front of other drivers.

Stamford police said they spotted him as he pulled up and got off the bike near Atlantic and Henry Streets. They waited and arrested Vizcarrondo as he left.

Vizcarrondo faces several charges, including reckless driving, improper lane changes, and possession of narcotics after police found 1.3 grams of cocaine during booking, Stamford authorities said.

Stamford police said they will continue to target reckless motorcycle and moped riders throughout the city.
