SIMSBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - A couple of Connecticut business owners are making a push to legalize THC beverages in restaurants as industry experts say alcohol sales are dropping and hurting the hospitality industry.

The owner of Hi People, a recreational marijuana dispensary in Derby, has a new line of THC-infused seltzers. A restaurant owner in Simsbury wants to add them to his menu, believing more people are choosing alternatives to alcohol.

“I think there’s a hangover from COVID. A lot of people were doing a lot of drinking during that time,” said Tyler Anderson, owner of Millwright’s Restaurant in Simsbury.
