Adam Montgomery, who was convicted of killing his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony, has failed to answer to a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the girl’s mother, which means a judgment could be entered against him without legal representation.

Montgomery, 35, was sentenced in May 2024 to 56 years to life on top of a minimum 32-year sentence for prior firearms convictions. He is serving his sentence in a prison in Virginia.

The notice of default was entered by Clerk Michael Scanlon in Hillsborough Superior Court in Manchester.

Harmony’s mother, Crystal Sorey, can now request an entry of judgment or submit an affidavit in support of financial damages sought. The information must first be mailed to Montgomery before any final judgment, according to the notice.
