1J uvenile robbed of shoes by masked group in Severn street attack

SEVERN, MD — A juvenile walking home from a convenience store was robbed of his shoes by a group of masked youths in a strong-arm robbery Monday evening, prompting an investigation by Western District police.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on the 8200 block of Portsmouth Drive. According to officers, the young victim was approached by five juveniles — three males and two females — who surrounded him and demanded his shoes. The victim complied, handing them over before the suspects fled the area on foot.

The crime was reported to police around 8:30 p.m., when officers responded to the 1300 block of Raleigh Drive. The victim was not injured during the incident.
