FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The City of Fort Smith has appointed a new Director of Human Resources after Rick Lolley's retirement in June.

Eric Gavin was appointed to the position of Director of Human Resources effective Sept. 14.

Gavin has been with the city's human resources department since 2018, serving as HR generalist, deputy director and most recently as acting director.

"I look forward to supporting our exceptional workforce and advancing initiatives that enhance the employee experience across all departments," said Garvin. "My priority is to align our people strategy with the City’s organizational goals, fostering employee engagement, professional growth, and operational excellence.
