The Slidell Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old in connection with a deadly shooting of an 18-year-old last Wednesday night.

Police said with the help of the United States Marshals Service and the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, investigators learned that the juvenile was hiding in the Hancock County, Mississippi area. Advertisement

They attempted to arrest him on Monday at a residence in Hancock County but he was not at the residence.

He turned himself in on Monday to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

He will soon be extradited back to Louisiana and will face one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Last Wednesday, Slidell police officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire near Possum Hollow Park.
