Two people were arrested Tuesday after Reno detectives seized $176,000 in fentanyl and two guns, concluding a monthslong investigation, police said.

Detectives with the Regional Narcotics Unit stopped a vehicle near Interstate 80 and Robb Drive with help from a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit and found about 685 grams of fentanyl and the guns.

A search of a home near Greenbrae Drive and Sullivan Lane turned up another 199 grams, for a total of nearly 885 grams — about 442,000 doses, police said.

Abel Rivas-Diaz, 28, and Monica Gasca, 31, were booked into the Washoe County jail on charges including possession and trafficking of a controlled substance and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
