LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

This year's performance of "The Brown-Forman Nutcracker" in Louisville will feel more alive thanks to a key piece returning.

That's because the show will have live music accompanying it for the first time since 2022.

The Louisville Ballet announced Tuesday the Louisville Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's score live during the shows.

Officials said live orchestration was paused after 2022 due to financial challenges. However, thanks to support from key donors, the ballet was able to bring it back this year.
