Cameras are being deployed across southern suburbs in a bid to control the fox population.

The Perth South West Metropolitan Alliance is co-ordinating a new monitoring program involving 18 cameras across the cities of Cockburn, Melville and Kwinana.

The cameras will remain in place for about three years, transmitting images via 4G connectivity to an online platform for processing.

The data collected will help identify fox activity and management responses.

For security reasons and to prevent interference with the equipment, the exact camera locations are not being publicly released.
