REED CITY — Leaders in one Northern Michigan school district is hoping voters will approve a $75.5 million bond proposal for critical upgrades and renovations. Their last attempt failed.

The last bond had a price tag of $88.1million dollars but was rejected by voters back in May of this year.

Superintendent Mike Sweet said there are still critical infrastructure that needs upgraded.

“We have two older buildings that have been maintained, have been taken care of, but have been around a while. They need more than just regular maintenance. It’s time for some renovations,” said Sweet.

Sweet said they reduced the current bond by more than 10% and are bringing it back to the voters this November.
