A decorated Air Force veteran imprisoned for four months for possessing firearms without a Massachusetts license could be released any day after a judge veered away from a prior court determination that found him dangerous.
A Gardner District Court judge has agreed not to extend a “dangerousness” detention on Kyle Culotta, a 51-year-old man who has been in jail since June 24, setting a $10,000 bail that his fiancée, Sarande Jackson, says she is close to reaching.
Speaking to the Herald via phone Tuesday evening, Jackson said she expects Culotta to be released by the end of the week, as donations kept pouring into an online fundraising campaign hours after Tuesday morning’s court appearance.
