(FOX40.COM) – A newly signed California law aims to turn more recycled glass back into wine bottles and keep glass manufacturing jobs right here at home.

State leader and Assembly Member Rhodesia Ransom says Assembly Bill 899 will help local glass plants compete with cheaper imports by providing stronger financial incentives to use California-made recycled glass.

On Tuesday, Ransom met with the staff at O-i Glass plant in Tracy.

“We're here today to discuss the passage of Assembly Bill 899, which prioritizes California glass makers by incentivizing them to make more wine bottles right here in California,” said Ransom.
