JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for residents and businesses in the Holiday City Mobile Home Park area of Jacksonville.

The City of Jacksonville says that a contractor working for a telecommunications company damaged a water main and sewer service line while installing fiber conduit within the park.

The water and sewer lines that were affected are privately owned by the mobile home park. Maintenance staff from Holiday City contacted the City to assist with repairs.

City crews are currently helping to restore service.

After the repairs are completed and normal water pressure is restored, the City will begin flushing the water system to ensure water quality.
