Even though she has campaigns for Self Portrait and Gap already under her belt, Apple Martin is adding another accomplishment to her résumé. On Friday, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin surprised the crowd at Cannery Hall in Nashville by singing on stage with Jade Street, a band formed at Vanderbilt University where she’s currently a senior. Sounds like her fall semester is going pretty well.
According to the school’s student newspaper, The Vanderbilt Hustler , Martin’s father — the Grammy-award winning frontman of Coldplay — was present in the audience and cheering her on. Her mom, the founder of Goop, was not in attendance, although I’m sure she sent along a care package stocked with jade eggs to make up for missing it.
