NEWARK - District Judge Jamel K. Semper reserved a decision on dismissal motions after hearing arguments on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from Rep. LaMonica McIver's legal team and attorneys representing the federal government on her indictment charging she assaulted and interfered with federal agents.

Semper said a written opinion will be forthcoming. The current trial date for McIver (Dem., NJ-10) is Nov. 10.

McIver's indictment followed her clash with federal officers during what she called a congressional oversight visit to Delaney Hall, the Newark immigration detention facility.
