The Parksville Community Centre Society plans to continue its popup recycling collection events in 2026, after collecting more than 95 tons in 2024.

The society also hopes to purchase the Parksville Community Centre at 223 Mills St., within the next couple years, according to Duane Round, PCCS president, who presented to council on Oct. 20.

A purchase of the property would ensure the recycling program, which operates through a contract with Recycle BC, would “remain an important asset for the citizens of Parksville to continue to enjoy,” Round said.
