A 38-year-old man believed to be “armed and dangerous” is the subject of a provincewide manhunt after a fatal shooting in Brampton sparked a brief Amber Alert.
Peel Regional Police said they responded to reports of a shooting Tuesday just before 2 p.m. in the Airport Rd.-Queen St. area, where a woman was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds before being pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not been released; however, The Canadian Press reported that police believe the incident to be a suspected case of intimate partner violence.
Police said Anthony Deschepper is believed to have fled the area in a black 2024 Nissan Kicks with the Quebec licence plate FRV4520 with his one-year-old daughter, Skyla-Rose Deschepper, in the back seat.
