OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A man has been sentenced for attempted second-degree murder in Okaloosa County.
According to a news release from the Office of the State Attorney, First Judicial Court of Florida, Michael Alan Ladson was sentenced to 30 years with a 25-year minimum.
On March 26, 2022, Ladson and Charles Meeks, identified as the victim, got into a verbal dispute outside of Coasters in Fort Walton Beach. Ladson was told by the security guard "to leave the property and not return for the night."
Ladson returned to the establishment about an hour later. He shot Meeks in the chest while he was playing pool in the restaurant. Security detained Ladson until police arrived.
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department investigated the case and made the arrest. The case was prosecuted
