Clemson's top receiver out for the season following back injury

The Clemson Tigers top receiver Bryant Wesco Jr. will miss the rest of the season after a back injury against SMU last Saturday.

A tough blow for Dabo Swinney's team who dropped to 3-4 on the season. One of the worst starts during his tenure at Clemson. Wesco was taken to a hospital in Greenville, South Carolina after a "very serious" back injury, according to Swinney. However, he didn't disclose further details.

"It was a very, very scary injury, and the doctors did an amazing job," Swinney told reporters.

Wesco was injured on a punt return with the crown of his helmet bouncing off the turf on a tackle that sent him going upside down.
