The President of the United States, Donald Trump, held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Diwali. The two leaders discussed issues ranging from ending the Ukraine-Russia war to strengthening cooperation against terrorism.
The US President said that he spoke to PM Modi about trade and efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, with PM Modi reportedly committing to "cutting back" on the purchase of Russian oil.
"I love the people of India. We're working on some great deals between our countries. I spoke to Prime Minister Modi today and we just have a very good relationship," PM Modi told reporters at the White House.
