MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) —The University of South Alabama and Airbus are working together to develop the aerospace workforce.
The university is one of the only schools in the state to have an aerospace engineering program. Today, USA President Joe Bonner announced that the school and Airbus will join forces to give students access to future engineering internships and potential jobs within the company.
"So this is about meeting the needs of the next generation of talent that we need in the company and give the students the chance to work on what I think are going to be some of the coolest projects," Robin Hayes, Chairman & CEO, Airbus North America, said.
While all the details still need to be worked out on this new partnership, South and Airbus officials are very excited for what's to come.
