In his team's biggest game of the season thus far, Valley Christian Academy junior tailback Tavin Wilding delivered.

Wilding ran for 123 yards and four touchdowns. He also intercepted a pass on defense as the Lions won 56-27 in this eight-man game at Coast Union Thursday to take sole possession of first place in the Coast Valley League.

Wilding is the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table (NSBCART) Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20. The NSBCART honored Wilding at its Monday luncheon at Giavanni's Pizza in Orcutt. There were no nominees for NSBCART Female Athlete of the Week.

VCA and Coast Union both went into their game Thursday 2-0 in the CVL. The Lions have the upper hand now as they try to defend their 2024 league title. VCA moved to 5-1, 3-0.
