NORTHGLENN, Colo. (KKTV) - Two suspects are facing more than 100 charges in an animal cruelty and neglect case north of Denver, according to the Northglenn Police Department (NPD).

NPD said officers executed a search warrant on July 16 related to suspected animal neglect and cruelty at a home near Wyco Park.

Upon arriving at the home, police said they found 117 pets (96 cats and 19 dogs) living in unsanitary conditions.

Police said one dog and one cat were found dead in the home.

All of the rescued animals were taken to local shelters for medical evaluations and temporary care. Police said Riverdale Animal Shelter is helping the rescued animals receive the care they need.
