LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — For the better part of a year, the question of who will fill Lackawanna County commissioner Matt McGloin's seat has been unanswered.

County judges selected Brenda Sacco to serve as interim commissioner, but just before she was supposed to take her seat, a lawsuit halted the process. At the same time, another set of judges decided that a special election would occur so voters could choose who the next commissioner would be.

Now, a state supreme court ruling says Brenda Sacco will serve as the interim commissioner two weeks before the special election would take place.
