West Milford needed two second-half goals to get past Lakeland 2-1 in Wanaque.

Jaxon Neibig and Noah Christian made the difference with their second and third goals of the year, respectively.

Nick Bognar and Kevin Docwra recorded the assists.

Michael DaSilva scored for Lakeland, while goalkeeper Hayden Whitaker-Currie kept the Lancers in it with 10 saves.

Highlanders goalkeeper Donovan Ford stopped seven shots.

Lakeland’s record is 5-10.

West Milford is 11-3-1 and improves to 7-0 in Big North - Independence play. A date with Wayne Valley is next, who is 6-2 against division opponents.

It will be the third meeting of the season between the rivals. The Highlanders won a regular-season game against the Indians, 2-1.

However, Wayne Valley knocked West Milford out of the Passaic County
