An investigation has begun after human remains were found in a rural town in northern Queensland.
The discovery was made on Monday at Breddan near Charters Towers, about 138km south-west of Townsville.
According to police, the person has not been identified and a cause of death has not been established yet.

They also said it was too early to link the remains to any ongoing investigations.
A crime scene was established, and forensic examinations of the remains and the crime scene are continuing.
