Even on the second day after Diwali, a haze of pollution hangs over Delhi and its surrounding areas. The air quality remains toxic. According to the website of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 345 at 7 AM, which falls into the 'severe' category.
In some areas of the capital, the AQI remains above 400. AQI was recorded at 433 in Punjabi Bagh and 401 in Wazirpur. Meanwhile, the pollution level is still in the red zone at 34 out of Delhi's 38 monitoring stations. This means the air quality ranges from 'very poor' to 'severe' levels.
