CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. -- A Bridgeport woman died in a crash on Highway 97 in Chelan County on Tuesday, according to Washington State Patrol.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 21, a 52-year-old man from East Wenatchee was driving his Ford F350 southbound on Highway 97 near milepost 236.

At one point, the truck crossed the center line and drove into the northbound lane, striking an oncoming Hyundai Sonata, driven by 42-year-old Macaria Ambrizespino.

WSP said Ambrizespino was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford F350 was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries.

The crash is still under investigation and, as of Tuesday night, it is not clear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the cause of the crash.
