FREEDOM, Pa. —

A Beaver County family lost everything in an early morning house fire in Economy Borough.

"The flames were pouring out the windows. The house was already collapsing, and they told me the basement was flooded with nine feet of water,” said homeowner Stephanie Csonka. Advertisement

Csonka and her three kids were spending the night at her aunt’s house when she got a call from her neighbor that her home of 38 years was on fire.

"I couldn't even get near to see if my kitties were… that's all I cared about. A house is a house. I can’t replace life,” Csonka said.

Csonka’s nine rescue cats were initially unaccounted for, but the family has since recovered and buried the bodies of six of them. She doesn’t believe the other three survived.
