Just one season removed from a winless 2024 campaign, the Fruita Monument High School boys soccer has risen from the ashes.
Despite not drastically reshaping their roster in the offseason, the Wildcats have found success on the pitch in 2025. Now in their second year under head coach Clay McKeachnie, Fruita has a chance to finish the regular season with a .500 record, and are on the doorstep of a postseason berth for the first time since 2022.
Fruita Monument’s year-over-year improvement has been hard to understate. In their first season under McKeachnie, the Wildcats were shut out five times en route to an 0-14 regular season. The team only scored multiple goals in two different games in 2024, a 7-2 loss to Montrose and a 3-2 defeat at Pagosa Springs.
