Boudh: Two local leaders of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) have been apprehended by the police in Odisha’s Boudh district in connection with a ganja trafficking case.
The action by the police comes amid intensified crackdown on illegal drug racket in the district.
The arrested individuals include Bipin Pradhan, husband of a former Zilla Parishad candidate from Kantamal, and Pramod Rana, husband of the Rengali Sarpanch. Both are reportedly close aides of a former BJD MLA. ADVERTISEMENT
As per police sources, the two were apprehended following extensive investigation into the illegal transportation and sale of ganja in Boudh district.
