EDMONTON, Ab. - The Spokane Chiefs end their six-game road stretch with a recovered 3-2 shootout win over the Edmonton Oil Kings.
Spokane led 2-0 deep into the final period after Gavin Burcar and Chase Harrington scored, but Edmonton replied with two goals within the final six minutes to send the game to overtime.
After a scoreless overtime, Burcar scored the leading shootout point for Spokane, and Carter Esler in goal saved the reply to take the win.
The win bumps Spokane up to a tie for second place in the Western Conference standings.
The Chiefs return to Spokane Arena this Sunday against the Everett Silvertips at 5:05 p.m.
