PORT ANGELES — The deadline to submit bids or qualifications for the Joint Public Safety Facility has been extended.

The Clallam County commissioners on Tuesday approved extending the deadline to submit bids for the construction of the facility from 2 p.m. Oct. 29 to 10 a.m. Nov. 10. They also extended the deadline to submit qualifications for construction administration services.

County Administrator Todd Mielke told commissioners the reason for the deadline extension is the volume of questions the county has received from potential contractors.

Commissioners now plan to open the bids during their regular meeting Nov. 10.
