Councillors are being urged to trigger a public inquiry over controversial plans for a windfarm in Galloway .
RES wants to build 14 turbines as tall as 250m at Blair Hill, a few miles north of Minnigaff.
The plans have been criticised by locals, who have set up campaign groups to fight the proposal.
Now, members of the council’s planning applications committee are being asked to lodge an objection to the plans with the Scottish Government.
If they do so at next week’s meeting, that will automatically trigger a public inquiry.
The Scottish Government will have the final say on the plans as it makes the decision on schemes with a capacity of more than 50MW – and the RES scheme could have a capacity of more than 90MW.
