Offensive football is a menagerie of throws and catches, handoffs and carries, runs and pitches.

Coaches have their preferences, and Delaware ’s Ryan Carty, given the choice, would rather put the football in the air.

“If you put a gun to my head, I'll probably call a pass play,” Carty confessed.
